Dental implants are an appealing solution to replace missing or extracted teeth. One benefit of dental implants, when compared to other alternatives, is that they do not require alterations to adjust teeth. 

Implants most often consist of 3 pieces. A man made root, a crown and a piece to connect the crown and root together. For most patients, once the root is healed it does not need replaced. The crown portion may require maintenance, much like a natural tooth.
